Flamman is located between the university, the Faculty of Health Sciences and the city centre. This is a pleasant and popular student area with its own rhythm and soul. Flamman is quite a small residential area with a pronounced feeling of community. Besides its close proximity to the various parts of the university, the city centre with all the shops and Nationernas Hus (association of students hailing from the same city/province), Flamman is also not far from Rydsskogen which is woodland with jogging tracks and football pitches.

The natural meeting place in the area is the student-run pub called Flamman which attracts visitors all year round to its friendly, energetic performances and cosy environment. The area also has a sauna located in the basement of Västanågatan 24.

Flamman mostly comprises of corridor rooms but there are also a few apartments. The corridor rooms are available either furnished or unfurnished whilst the apartments are unfurnished.

Flamman has its own Student Council – FR-Flamman – which comprises of students who work together with Studentbostäder I Linköping.
