Dorm or apartment?

What does it mean to live in a dormitory and what does a dorm room look like? What is the difference compared to living in an apartment? We sort out the different forms of housing.

Living in a dorm room

Safe, social and fun! This is how we usually describe a residence hall. Here you can have a fun social life, with close proximity to student life and fun activities. And if you’re new to the city, you’ll quickly get to know new people.

If you live in a residence hall, you are very close to nearby neighbours. And that often means you get to make friends and other meet people with similar interests. In the residence halls, relationships and lifelong memories are created. Dinners, spontaneous barbecues and relaxing moments are just a few examples. If you want to experience all that student life has to offer, we highly recommend living in a residence hall.

What is it like to live in a dorm room?

The various student residence halls may look slightly different, but common to all of them is that they have shared common spaces, including a shared kitchen and other communal areas. All rooms in a residence hall have their own toilet and shower. The student residence halls offer both furnished and unfurnished rooms. If your family or friends come to visit, you can easily book a guest room. When you need time to study, you can book a study room. Easy and convenient via our resident app!
