Subletting

Subletting means that you can rent out your home to another student for a limited period of time. The time you sublet is included in your total residence time. You can rent out your home for a maximum of two years. The subletting tenant has no right to take over your contract after the subletting has ended. You can apply for subletting when you have logged in to My Pages.

The following rules apply to subletting

• The tenant you wish to sublet your home to must be a student at Linköping University
• You can rent out your home for a total of 2 years.
• The subletting lasts a maximum of six months, after which a new application is required.
• In the case of cohabitation, you can rent out your home maximum one year. You submit an application for subletting for 6 months at a time.
• The time for subletting is included in the time for the total residence time of five years.
• It is you as our tenant who also during the subletting, is responsible for all obligations to Studentbostäder i Linköping AB.
• We recommend the first tenant and their tenant to sign a contract between eachother.

In order for a subletting application to be approved, the following certificate is required:

For studies abroad

• Verifiable study certificate 
• Certificate of a study break from Linköping University or a certificate of studies abroad. 
• An excerpt from Ladok showing that the education at Linköping university has not been completed.
• For studies abroad, a witnessed Power of attorney must also be submitted together with the application. You can find the Power of attorney on My Pages.
• Certificates showing that the student subletting the home is a student at Linköping university.

If you are planning on working abroad/in a different city.

• Employee contract from your employer
• Certificate of a study break from Linköping university.
• An excerpt from Ladok showing that the education at Linköping university has not been completed.
• For studies abroad, a witnessed Power of attorney must also be submitted together with the application. You can find the Power of attorney on My Pages. 
• Verifiable study certificate 
• Certificates showing that the student subletting the home is a student at Linköping university.

Study break

• Certificate of a study break from Linköping university.
• An excerpt from Ladok showing that the education at Linköping university has not been completed.
• Certificates showing that the student subletting the home is a student at Linköping university.

Moving in with a partner

• Confirmation of new registered address/change of address.
• Certification that you as the owner of the contract and the student subletting your home is active students at Linköping University.  

Transfer the contract

In certain cases, your rental agreement may be transferred to another person.

To be able to apply for a contract transfer, the following basic requirements must be met:

• The person taking over the contract must have been registered at the address for at least one year.   
• The person who wants to take over the contract must be able to show that the person is a student at Linköping University with three study certificates: National result certificate, Certificate of registration and a Certificate of anticipated participation.
• Any application for transfer must be accompanied by confirmation of the registered address and proof of study.

You have to lived at the same address together to be able to transfer the contract, that means you cannot transfer after subletting.
